All Leading Politicians and Parties are Viewed Unfavourably By Voters

Ipsos' monthly pulse is out and it reinforces just how disenchanted the electorate are with politics and politicians in general. Leading Tories and Rishi Sunak in particular are all in double-digit negativity territory with voters. PM Rishi Sunak is held in lower esteem by the voters than than even Liz Truss managed during her brief premiership. That is not to say that the public is in love with Sunak's opponents; Keir Starmer and Angela Rayner both manage to achieve double-digit net negativity. Angela Rayner has managed to slip a couple of notches in the last few months as her housing and tax issues hang over her with a police investigation ongoing.

Something that might worry the Conservatives is that the number of voters with favourable views towards Reform matches the number with favourable views towards their own party, whilst Reform are actually viewed less unfavourably than the Conservatives. Quite an achievement for a party to the right of the Conservatives.

Conservative leaning analysts emphasise that the public apathy towards Keir Starmer is their opportunity, it looks doubtful that it will overcome antipathy towards the Conservatives.
