YouGov - Labour members want Prescott to stay
Despite the pressure upon John Prescott a new YouGov poll suggests that the majority of Labour party members continue to back him. In a poll of Labour party members 56% said they wanted Prescott to continue as Deputy Prime Minster until Tony Blair stepped down and 9% wanted him to remain in office after Blair's departure. Only 25% wanted him to step down now. There were no significant differences between men and women, and a similar question asking about Presoctt's future as Deputy Leader of the Labour party, as opposed to Deputy PM, produced similar results.
