MORI - Bad news for Labour and Cameron

Share

Partial reports of a new MORI poll for the FT contain bad news for both Labour and David Cameron.

Net satisfaction with the government has fallen to -46 (22% are satisfied, 68% disatisfied). While low satisfaction ratings for the government aren't new, more notably even a plurality of Labour supporters say they are disatisfied with the government - 44% are satisfied to 46% disatisfied, a net satisfaction rating of -2. The only time MORI have previously shown Blair's government with a negative approval rating amongst its own supporters was on the eve of the Iraq war.

There is bad news for David Cameron as well though - his approval rating has suffered a sharp drop from +13 in MORI's March poll to only +2 now, raising the possibility that things such as his chauffeur taking his briefcase to work while he rides his bike and his trip to Norway to see a melting glacier have started to damage his image.
