ComRes - 60% think Labour are the most divided

The leadership ructions in the week seem to have brought out the pollsters (I understand that there is also an ICM poll in the field, presumably for one of the weekend papers). ComRes have some Hoon-Hewitt questions for the Daily Politics here. They found 50% of people agreed with the statement that Labour would have greater appeal if Gordon Brown stepped down, but 69% thought there were no obvious more popular candidates to replace him (which of course could be a reflection of a lack of candidates... or a reflection of the public's lack of awareness of them).

The most cutting figure there was a question on which party was the most divided. 17% said the Conservatives, 10% the Liberal Democrats and 60% Labour. That's not to say it's surprising - the poll was, after all, carried out on Wednesday and Thursday when Labour's divisions were splashed all over the TV and newspapers - but it's a reminder of why things like this are damaging.
