What "Burnham Bounce"? Andy Has Plummeting Double Digit Negative Approval Rating
Amidst much talk of an upcoming "Burnham Bounce" for Labour it is noticeable that his personal ratings have gone down. A YouGov/Times survey – conducted on 24-25 June, following Keir Starmer’s resignation – shows that Andy Burnham has taken a hit to his personal ratings.
This latest poll finds Burnham’s popularity has receded to -11, with 32% having a positive opinion of him and 43% a negative one (this latter figure being the highest to date).

Across the board his ratings have declined on likeability, competence, decisiveness, with him seen as increasing unprincipled and untrustworthy. Admittedly he still scores better than Keir Starmer.

According to research by More in Common 43% see Andy Burnham as "in it for himself" which is 5 points worse than Kemi Badenoch's score. Given current news it is no surprise to see Nigel Farage being viewed by 61% as "in it for himself".
Labour image makers will be disappointed and worried that the yet to be seen "Burnham Bounce" might not happen in a significant way.
