Populus/Times - CON 33%, LAB 41%, LDEM 9%

The monthly Populus poll for the Times has been published and shows topline figures of CON 33%(nc), LAB 41%(nc), LDEM 9%(-1), Others 17%(+1 - includes UKIP at 5%). Changes are from Populus's last poll about a month ago, and clearly indicate no substantial change.

In the rest of the survey, Populus asked an interesting variation on Prime Ministerial approval of David Cameron. 24% of people said they were satisfied with Cameron as Prime Minister, 31% said they were disatisfied and would prefer Ed Miliband as PM, 32% said they were dissatisfied with Cameron... but would still prefer him to Miliband. Hence nearly two-thirds were disatisfied, but a majority would rather have Cameron than Miliband.

There was also a question on who people blame for the current state of the economy - in this case people were asked to rate how much each thing was to blame on a scale of 0 to 10, and Populus counted those who blamed each item by 8/10 or more, so people were allowed to attribute blame to more than one item. 64% blamed the banks' behaviour prior to the bailout, 57% blamed the Eurozone crisis, 49% the last Labour government's borrowing, 47% blamed banks for not lending now and 37% blamed the current government's cuts.

UPDATE: Tonight's YouGov poll for the Sun has topline figures of CON 33%, LAB 44%, LDEM 7%, Others 16% (including UKIP on 8%)
